Adrienne Performance
ORLANDO, Fla. – The doors of Natura’s coffee and tea are constantly opening and closing from people coming and going. There are people doing homework, talking with friends, and just enjoying the relaxed, down to earth scene.

None of this seems to distract Adrienne, a singer/songwriter who was performing that Tuesday night. She was too busy playing the soulful songs that she had written from her own personal experiences as she accompanied herself on the acoustic guitar.

Adrienne, whose full name is Adrienne Zolondick, has been playing music for over 20 years. “Some people see an acoustic guitar and would think that my music type is folk but I would describe it as more pop, rock, alternative, or contemporary rock,” Zolondick said.

Zolondick, a native of the Florida key’s, captured the laid back style of her hometown while performing at Natura’s for the first time that night.

It was a small gathering of about 15 to 20 people, most of who were college students.

One of those people in attendance is Christina Kuhlman. “I actually liked it a lot. I was impressed and I’m not usually impressed by the acts they have here,” Kuhlman said.

In between each of her songs, Zolondick shared a story of what inspired her to write it. “I loved how she made it a personal performance by talking about the songs,” concert attendee Caitlin Sandberg said. “It made me like her as a person as well as a performer.”

“Some of my musical influences are James Taylor, Sarah McLachlan, Genesis, and Kate Bush,” Zolondick said. She uses those influences to write music for her 5 CD’s that she has released and sells for ten dollars each.

Vocal arrangements are a passion of mine – when working with fellow artists on a musical arrangement or new vocal harmonies, I strive to create a unique layering of sound.

I feel I know instinctive how to find what a song needs to make it more appealing to the listener. I call it “layered vocals.”

When I was young my family had a Chanukah bush and we celebrated Chanukah so where did this song come from? Don’t ask me! When the muse hits there’s no stopping it! I was certainly happy to discover that 3 of the most loved Christmas songs of all time were written by someone who celebrated Chanukah! Nevertheless I have always looked at the lights of the Holidays as a sharing of time with family and friends, regardless of your faith, everyone’s crafting and shopping and giving gifts, and I love that!

The sale of this single, in the spirit of gift giving this Christmas season, is benefiting the Bahama Village Music Program who gives free music instruction to children in the lower Keys who cannot afford music lessons.

Studio vocalist, Adrienne is currently recording songs for her 4th solo album. Here she is performing her song, “For Your Soul”, a hypnotic and heart wrenching love song which will be on her upcoming CD. Not only does Adrienne record her own music, but she also sings radio commercials and back round vocals for various artists. Recording again….

“My performing schedule has slowed down a bit and I’m very excited to be getting back to recording my music,” says Adrienne about her upcoming studio sessions.

Even though she has 5 CD’s available now, her last solo CD was recorded in 1991. Since then she has written over 50 plus songs that haven’t been recorded or published for distribution. Now that she has realized being behind the controls, getting good sounds and pushing the record button is easy, she has her own studio, plays all the instruments and spends time creating beautiful arrangements for her songs. As her musician friend Dave Feder says, “All you need is ears…da da da da da.” After years of relying on someone else to press record, she now realizes how true that statement is because her recordings are sounding great and she is ecstatic about it. “This is far from rocket science,” she says. “Woohoo!!!!”

In addtion to working on her fourth solo album, Adrienne has sessions booked with Dan Simpson at Private Ear Recording studio in Key West to record the music she has written over the past few years with pianist/composer Larry Smith. After laying down the basic tracks with Larry, Tim McAlpine on bass and Richard Crooks on drums, Adrienne will take the tracks to her own studio to lay down vocals and guitar. Watch out! Dewey Engstrom of Clear Channel Radio asked Adrienne to the studio to  record her music live for Sun FM, a station that promotes local artists. Adrienne  is currently on full rotation at Sun FM.

You can hear her music on the “Night Train” with Joey Naples weeknights from 7pm till Midnight on SUN FM, 103.1 in the upper Keys, 99.5 in the lower Keys and Key West. You can stream the Night Train LIVE at keysradio.com.

Adrienne says the music this station plays is unlike any other station in the Florida Keys. They feature original unsigned musicians who perform in the keys and they actually play their music! They’re not kidding when they say on the air, “Just Good Music”.  That’s really what it is.

Not only can you hear Adrienne’s music on Sun FM 103.1, but tonight Adrienne will be interviewed and perform live on the air with Big D from 7-8pm on Island 107.1 for their locals mic night. Click here to hear the interview live.

Adrienne is thrilled that the upper Keys have chosen to have their own Songwriters Festival and she is part of the line up performing with Award Winning Songwriters during this 4 day event.  Adrienne performs at Snappers Sunday at 5pm.

Key Largos Original Music Fest kicks off on Thursday May 19th at Snappers Waterfront Bar.

Friday and Saturday May 20th and 21st, music lovers can enjoy multiple music happenings at the various stages set up at bayside restaurants such as Senore Frijoles, Cactus Jacks and Sundowners.

The Festival returns to Snappers Restaurant on Sunday May 22rd for it’s finale.  Adrienne will be performing at 5pm.

After many hours of deliberation and finally debuting years of her music on her own website, Adrienne has created an official fan page on Facebook, for just her music, whether written alone, or in collaboration with the more than 20 songwriters she has worked with over the years.
