Injade
“What happens when ‘angelic’ mixes with ‘animalistic’,'” is the title of an article written by Steve Sanowski of the Florida Keys Keynoter, and it accurately describes the sound of Injade.
Sweet and strong vocals surrounding high energy with rockin’ acoustic and electric guitars, all fused together with a tight rhythm section. The music is melodic and catchy and mellows out at times on their original songs, “Livin’ a Dream,” or the title cut, “Shortcut to the Playground, which is less rockin’ than the cut, “My World,” a tribute to the world we can create for ourselves as opposed to what’s going on on a gobal scale, or the compelling rockin’ love song, “Sunny Day. Injade’s music cannot be described and boxed into one category. Some of their songs have a regaae rock feel, while others are pop rock. The floating members of Injade are Chris Burchard or Robert Douglas on elcetric guitar, Tim McAlpine or Bubba Lownotes on Bass and Luis Vera or Richard Crooks on drums.
Adrienne and David Tortolano co-wrote and produced their debut CD Shortcut to the Playground and currently the cuts, “Shortcut to the Playground” and, “Conchtown”, a song specifically about the Keys is on full rotation on Key-Z FM 93.5 in the lower Keys and Key West and 96.9 in the upper Keys to South Miami.
Injade began as a duo with David Tortolano on electric acoustic guitar and vocals, and Adrienne Zolondick on acoustic guitar keyboards and vocals. Neither one of them really knew how magically their unique styles would mesh as pop rock songwriters, but their fusion came to a head when Adrienne joined David’s longtime band,” Root,” and they began performing their music with a four piece band, rocking places like Sloppy Joes, Virgilio’s and the Looe Key Tiki Bar, and focusing on their original music.
